What Kind Of Christmas Tree Ornament Does A Home Inspector Use?

What kind of Christmas tree ornament does a home inspector use?

Well, only the best!

And what did you expect?

I love doing home inspections - old homes, new homes - you name it.

If I could afford to live independently I would do home inspections for free!

My recommendation:  one could say that the Christmas tree represents a certain Carpenter, a fashioner of trees, and that we are those being fashioned individually.  One could say that the lights represent the stars in the sky with the tree capped by the larger, more visible Star of Bethlehem.  And one could say that the ornaments represent the gifts of the Wisemen who sought the Person the bright Star announced.  So pick ornaments that represent you and what you would give as gifts!  Doing anything good unto the least of anybody is the same as doing it unto the Carpenter.  Give everything you do your best shot!

FYI - I have many dozens of other ornaments!  And a lot Redskin based!  But when I found this one I had to begin using it!

Good morning Jay Markanich ,

I love this ornament! What a great idea to bring to clients who have purchased a home throughout the year! Where did you ever find this one?

It was many years ago, Dorie.  I don't remember!

Great post, Jay. Your love for your work shines through with each word. Too bad Charlotte is a bit too far from your end of the world, or I'd be calling on you. As a collector of ornaments, this is a very nice one, by the way.

I like it! You are a great example of someone that gives it their best. Have a great weekend!

I think for an inspector that ornament would be a great gift to past clients of the year.

Thanks for stopping by, Anthony.

That's very kind, Nina.  I'm sure we'd have a great business relationship!

Thank you, Nathan.  I really try to give my best.

Joe - it was over a decade ago, but I gave one of those to many realtors for Christmas one year.

Sheila - there is a lot of symbolism around Christmas that many don't consider.  Wreaths, yule logs, snow, trains under the tree, even how Santa got started.  It all leads to a Certain Someone.  Even Xmas came from a Greek symbol for Christ - the X - and so the use of the word Xmas is not that untoward.

Jay- you are a fountain of information and it is always well presented!!! I too, love that ornament. How about expanding a post on the symbolism of Christmas.

Good morning, Jay Markanich very insightful post.... every ornament one gives should represent them and something to be memorable...

Posted by Barbara Todaro, "Franklin MA Homes" (RE/MAX Executive Realty ) about 1 month ago

I would think most people in real estate would like that ornament, Wayne!

Barbara - I have ornaments well over 100 years old, from my grandparents who always had a fabulous tree with a train and village underneath.  Wish I had that train!  I do have some of the village houses, though.
