What I'm Seeing Now

Having Skin In The Game, I Mean The Electric Panel Box

Having skin in the game, I mean the electric panel box.

Home inspectors see all sorts of things inside electric panel boxes.

You name it - mud and dirt, rusty components, dead mice, huge termite mud condominiums, insects and so forth.

This is the first time I have seen an entire snake skin inside a box!

There was a large hole in the bottom of the box and a good-sized snake could enter, and did!

While there he took the time to shed his skin.  And the entire skin was present - neck to tail!

For those unfamiliar, that is a black snake skin.  Black snakes are good to have roaming around a property.  They keep the rodent population down.

I'm not sure how good it is to have them inside the panel box, but if there are mice living in there I guess they would be taken care of!

My recommendation:  while snakes and other animals are not the reason home inspectors go into panel boxes (there were many problem issues inside this box of an electrical nature!), there are such interesting things to be found!  And fun to share.

I had a cellar in an old home once that had skins all over the place, and I finally found the snake, Jennifer.  He was a very happy, 7' black snake.  I named him Julius Squeezer.

Fred - my first!  My client was a young cop and he said not to show his wife!

She had her hands full of the 3 week old that tagged along.

Jay, it's amazing that he slithered around in there and never touched hot to ground.  Impressive moves!

I think that was a panel box pro, Stephen!  I see fried mice in boxes all the time, but never before a snake skin!

Jay, I've seen many things in panel boxes, but I'm not sure I've seen a snake skin in one.

Like I said in the post, Mike, I've seen some things, but never this!
