What I'm Seeing Now

I Did Not Know Window Trim Came In Snap-Together Pieces!

Until a recent inspection, I did not know window trim came in snap-together pieces!

Looking up I saw it!

The whole section apparently popped off.

And here I thought they were extruded pieces of some form of smoosh.

I didn't see the piece anywhere.

And don't know if the sellers have it.

But they will have to try to find the materials provider to see what brand the trim is, and get another piece.

Hopefully the little holders are still intact and the new piece snaps in place.  If not, a new window pediment will need to be purchased and installed.

It can't stay like this!

My recommendation:  you learn something everyday!   Having never seen this before I now know how these trim members come.  Is everything a big Legos set?

Interesting Jay like you I have never seen this before.  Now I'll need to go and see if our local big chain stores have these

Do you start with the window provider or the vinyl trim providers? So many choices, so little information. I always enjoy your posts. Thank you.

It sure would be easy to put a house together if it came in Lego's like pieces.

Lise - since this is my learning window, I will have to find out!

Kat - maybe that day is coming.  I wonder what the R-value of Legos is?

Oh funny.  I didn't realize either.  I think they'll have to replace.

They'll have to find the parts somewhere Debbie!

Jay, I've never seen that either. I'm guessing you couldn't find the pieces because the homeowner (not knowing what they were) chopped them up with his mower!

Could be it blew off and broke in to many shards Tom!

At my house the lawn mower might take care of the job too...

Jay- this is a new one for me too! Oh yes, I fear the mighty mower had some plastic breakfast one day. Or.... Perhaps they were taken to complete part of a larger Legos set?

Good morning Jay,

I had to look!

Maybe they took it to start a jig saw puzzle!

Make yourself a great day.

I would like to see what that Legos set constructed Kathy!

Raymond - and I would like to see the end result of that puzzle!

You stole the words right outta my mouth... it's a Lego house! I took the grand kids to Legoland in Florida before I moved, there was a full sized Ford SUV there constructed totally out of Legos! Those guys are taking over the world I say!!

I know that now Michael.  Didn't then!

Me neither Wayne!  Me neither.

Fred - Legos are made of ABS, the same as the drain lines.  Don't know what this window trim is made of.

That's weird.  I never would have thought they were snap on pieces.

I watched the new neighborhood being built next to our old community with amazement.  You coud easily break into any of the houses with a box cutter!  Within 5 years the houses looked 20 years old.  Plastic molding warping and pulling away from the house.  Roof edges flush with the house led to mold and mildew issues.  Sad, just sad.

How fun to get in with a box cutter Stephen!  I wonder often about modern construction.

Looks suspiciously like a bad DIY job, hmmm ?

The house is only 5 years old S&D, so this looks original!  And I did not know this stuff came in pieces!
