What I'm Seeing Now

A New Product Filling A Market Need Very Quickly And Very Well

Anytime I see a new product filling a market need very quickly and very well, it just brings a tear to my eye.

My client couple and I had been going through a house, kind of from thing to thing, when it came time to go into the attic.

As I did, the realtor, one Miss Kennedy, who, by the way, is walking around like she never had knee replacement surgery (!), and looks great, waited comfortably for the attic information.

There were a number of areas leaking into the attic.

And looking under a couple of those spots what did I see?

Fantastically, just one day after the introduction of the newest Billy Jays product, Recover Yer Rain!, here it is!

I have to say, it brought tears to my eyes!

Billy's marketing, distribution system, shipping, and customer service are, in a word, amazing!

And look!  Who knew the Billy Buckets! came in so many different colors!  And so big!

Because of my relationship with Billy I think I was more impressed than anyone else there.  I'm not sure why.

Pat said the other realtor had suggested there were some previous problems, but that they were all taken care of and fresh painting was done.  We wondered if she was referring to this as the "fix" of those problems!  There was, after all, only slight evidence of repairs in the ceiling under each of these buckets, and no moisture registered by the meter!

My recommendation:  whenever another party says that "a few" previous problems have been, um, "repaired," well, you might want to find out exactly what those problems were and see if in fact that is true!  Sometimes, as you know, the fix is in.  And not what you expect...

Jay, what is really amazing is how fast Billy Jays gets those products into the hands of his customers!

How lucky you and Pat are to be able to work together. And how lucky buyers are to have both of you on their team!

Amazing.  What kind of repair was that?   Amazing.  I always advise my buyers to get an inspection report.

He is truly amazing Andrea!  Just a day after the product's introduction!  Pat and I have been together a few times and she is looking really good.

Merline - read the link in the post to get a hint of the twinkle in my eye with this post!  And the post before that one!

Good morning, Jay..... it's unbelievable that people realize they have a problem and continue to allow it to happen....if they didn't know that's another story.

Jay...you forgot to say that there is always, apparently, a selection of designer colors to match or contrast with any decor !

To be fair Barbara, this is a condo development of townhouses and it could be that the condo is lax as regards roof issues.  I found where they are lax regarding other issues.  The condo may have said to put a bucket under there until they get around to it!  But the indoor repairs were carefully done.  I found them, but they were carefully done, so this is a known issue.

S&D - I was impressed that so many colors and sizes are available!

LOL, glad it's hitting the shelves and they are flying off. Your advertising plan must be working well, too.

As you know, Debbie, infomercials work!  And Billy Jays has a presentation second to none.

What is this... bucket week? "Repaired" to me means repaired correctly. Maybe I'm crazy and not that I am opposed to Billy Jays hot new product but, he should have looked into different options! :-)

Do those buckets have a shut off float in them so they will not overfill?

Good morning Jay,

Um don't kick any of them!

Make yourself a great day.

Hi Jay.  This adds a whole new meaning to the term "bucket list".

The power of media in action. It great to see Billy's product put to good use.

Roof repairs seem to be on everyone's bucket list Fred.  Don't know why really...

Raymond - not likely they will get kicked, but maybe accidentally knocked over when the Official Bucket Drainer goes up there.

Tom - OH!  You pre-empted my comment to Fred!  I had not seen this!

Jim - he is the man and I, well, I have to admit how proud I am of him.

Hi Jay,

Looking at the "Billy Jay's Bucket list" in the attic, what was the condition of the rest of the exterior roof in? Knowing it already leaks, but wanting a view of what and why.

Have a great day Billy Jay.

Best, Clint McKie

The stained areas, front and rear, are where a slightly-sloping gable roof meets a more severe mansard side Clint.  The transition is not good, obviously.  I could not see flashing, but also could not see what else was there instead.

Yeah..the buckets are definitely a tell.  Just like a box of cat litter I found in a home that had been tenant occupied for five years.  I was there with owner.  As soon as we walked in I asked if her tenant had pets, because I smelled cat or dog urine.  Nope.  AS we toured the recently vacated house, we found a canister of left over kitty litter.

Billy ought to get in on that Chris Ann - Leave Yer Litter! or some such thing.  Or Litter Yer Lies?

Necessity is the mother isn't it?  In any respect I bet Billy Jays wished he would have thought about that one.  :)

I'm not sure exactly what you suggest he should have thought about, James, but he is always thinking, that is for sure.
