Continuing west from Warrenton VA on Lee Highway (lots of Civil War names for highways in Virginia) about 30 minutes or so you will pass a little bungalow on the right.
OK, it's not so little!
Very large, gorgeous house would be better put.
To the rear is an expansive, covered patio porch, complete with fireplace, wind chimes, comfy furniture, a nice deck behind ...
AND A VIEW.
If you have ever seen one, this is a porch with a view.
Sitting on an acre, this house abuts the Narmada Winery to its rear.
This is a view of a small part of that winery.
These are some quiet neighbors!
Virginia has many, many wineries. But also -
Looking to the left and further west are the Shenandoah Mountains, and green and quiet.
Looking from the front of the house, more south, are the Shenandoah Mountains, and green and quiet.
It is a delightful setting.
Sorry, the house is already purchased...and inspected!
For more reasons than one, I think this was a great buy!

Good morning, Jay. I can relate to the Civil War names. A ton of them around here too. BTW, nice view...
Michael - Manassas has nothing but Civil War names all around! This was some peaceful setting too...
I love the picture. Beautiful view. I am sure one of the reasons the buyers purchased the house is because of the view.
Good morning Jay; I've been to Manassas, BTW, did you buy any wine?
All I can say is "ahhhhhhhh" That must have been a pleasure to inspect!
nice! Until the trees grow :)
Looks like a nice place to retire. . . If there was an ocean I would be sold! :) Thakns for your post. It looks like a fun place to visit!
Beautiful setting for this place. can see why the place sold.
Thanks for the post Jay.
Yes , it is a beautiful view. Living in the Piedmont area is a blessing! As for the Quiet neighbor, most vineyards host weekend events and may Not be so quiet! We have one vineyard in Fauquier county that borders a couple of subdivisions and the homeowners are quite angey about the weekend noise. It's all how things are sited.
Hi Jay, very nice view, When the trees grow up it will be a privacy fence as well.
Nice shot.

Spent some wonderful years growing up in around the Shenandoah Valley -- my Mom still lives there and the views and feeling of freedom are unrivaled in my humble opinion. Thanks for sharing this.
Nice, much better than a view of identical row houses on the other side of the street.
Mr Jay,
Do you stops there for some sampling of the purple juice prior to writing these blog posts?
Nutsy
It was Gita. And proximity to work. These are both doctors and work at a hospital only 20 minutes away!
Ken - I wouldn't have had time if I wanted to (I don't drink alcohol). My next inspection was an hour away and I only had one hour to get there!
Kathryn - it was a beautiful home. The inspection took 5 hours! It is a huge place.
That won't be so bad Daniel. The vineyard is really large and trees can be trimmed!
It was a very pleasurable inspection Joy! And the ocean isn't far!
That wasn't the only reason Tom. The house is wonderful too.
Renee - the buyers asked that of the sellers and all activities at the vineyard are so far away they hear nothing.
It will Clint, if that is what they want. If not, the trees can be trimmed.
Tish - this is on the way to Luray, perhaps another half an hour. It's about 20 minutes outside of Warrenton.
Robert - nope! Across the street is another 50 acres, untouched!
No Nutsy, I am not old enough. Actually I don't drink alcohol for any reason.
Jay, your beautiful picture brings back memories of a couple of holidays we have taken at different times of the year in the Shenandoah Mountains... thanks =)
It is a very pretty area, and the further you get to them the prettier they are Chris, pretty much all seasons.
Jay,
I really thought that the surprise was going to be that YOU bought this home. Liked the verbal picture too. Thanks Jay
Jay - it is a beautiful area. Had some family friends who lived in Hume (since deceased - so can't go back to visit them anymore.)
Brad - too far out and $1.2 is a bit beyond my ability! But thanks for the vote of confidence!
Steven - Hume is not far and again, beyertiful too!
