What I'm Seeing Now

Snow Central Here!

Sometimes snow fall causes you to do things differently.

This was early this morning.  Our little Jack Russell had no where to go, so I had to install a new bathroom.

Later I had to enlarge it.  It disappeared.  More than once.

We are expecting between 20 and 24".

She will not be having a good day...

It's about time to start thinking about dinner.

How about some steak on the grill!

This is 1pm in the afternoon.  We are about half done with the snow.

I better get on it.

Might take a while to get dinner on the table...

This, by the way, is a record December snow fall for Washington DC.  The previous record, 11.5", was set in 1933.

1933 was one of the, if not the, hottest years ever for the Washington area...

You poor DC folk aren't used to this much snow.  It's amazing that if you go one hour north this happens a lot more often.  The mason dixon line seems to be a defining line when it comes to snowfall.

I think you're right, David.  We have had a few really big blizzards, though, during my lifetime here.

We are waiting for it to start here. They are predicting 8" - 14" for my area. Strangely the northern part of the state will be getting less than the southern. It has been very cold for days so it will pile up fast.

We are at about 18" right now here James.  Supposed to stop tomorrow morning.  I bet church is canceled...

Jay, amazing photos!  I'm at a tropical beach and really missing out on this whole thing.  Sounds like an awful lot of snow.

Patricia - the key word is "awful!"  And you are on a tropical beach?  Sounds a bit better to me!

Mr Jay,

If I was to come stay with you for a few months, I could help with getting around in the snow.

Nutsy

Nutsy - the snow will not stay around here for a few months.  But, we can use the help getting around, for sure, and you are welcome to stay even if there is no snow.  I can use the inspection help.  We have many crawl spaces here.  Personally, I don't like them, as I am big.  You would be a great help.

Where did you find that small track for sledding?  It's perfectly suited to sleds your size!

Last year here in North Idaho, we woke up on 12/17 with no snow on the ground.  When we woke up on 12/18 we had more than three feet!  It was AMAZING, but sometimes there can be just too much of a good thing!

Jay---how about a steakcicle or wings alamode or "powdered" eggs.

Those all would work well, Charlie!  By the time it was done the grill just about disappeared.
