One of those sayings in life is that being grounded is good and getting screwed is not and usually it's one or the other - grounded or screwed. It's a vernacular thing.
Can both happen at the same time?
Apparently so in this kitchen!
This is the receptacle on the kitchen island.
It happens to be the only one at child level. Maybe a child played with it.
Where the child got a round-head metal screw I don't know, but it got inserted into a logical spot.
That's one of only two roundish holes on the island wall, and just about child level.
It seems some little fellow only had one screw!
And he did the job well. It is in pretty tight!
Now, if a big fellow did this I would wonder what he was thinking.
It is an interesting way to use a screw in any case, but not a very good one.
My recommendation: if it looks odd, it usually is. And this is incorrect by any measure. Ground holes don't need to be filled with screws, this is not a child-blocking safety thing, and this receptacle is damaged and needs to be replaced.
